Hello,
I am seeking permission to reproduce the words of Nina Simone from Nina Simone: An Artist’s Duty (speaking from the Nina Simone YouTube Channel for the Estate & Charitable Trust of Dr. Nina Simone). The extract can be found online here:
And the words we would like to reproduce are as follows: “An artist's duty, as far as I'm concerned, is to reflect the times. I think that is true of painters, sculptors, poets, musicians. As far as I'm concerned, it's their choice. But I choose to reflect the times and the situations in which I find myself. That, to me, is my duty... I don't think you have a choice.
