Whe I was 8 years old my mom and her best friend took me to a blues/ jazz place in Akron, Ohio. There was a black woman who played a piano and sang amazing stuff. My mom had exposed me to early songs of musicals of the time.
I was to young to remember the artist or club but somehow I feel or want to believe it was Nina.
The evening had a major influence on me as a short time later my mom died of cancer. So I was never able to ask or confirm if my later in life suspicions are correct.
So my question is does anyone know if Nina performed in Akron in late 59, 60 or early 61?
