Philadelphia radio icon Sid Mark passed away on April 18th.
Nina Simone credited Sid with helping kick-start her career. Sid would play Nina's version of "I Loves You, Porgy" on his Philly radio program three or four times in a row and within six months of the release of Nina's debut album, "Little Girl Blue," the song had spread up and down the East Coast.
